Positional Sanctification

2 Feb 2007

Scripture:
"We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
Heb 10v10

"Christ has died. Christ has risen and Christ lives again". These words were repeated in part of the communion service that I have attended. These words are very significant to me as a christian. It speaks of what Christ has done for a sinner like me. I have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, which was shed for me. I became a new creation as I believe in faith that Christ is the way for me to receive salvation and eternal life.

Having believed, Jonah was marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession - to the praise of His glory. (Eph 1 v 14)

I have positional sanctification because of my faith in the work of Christ at the cross. I have been sanctified as I have said the sinner's prayer. I became righteous in the eyes of God because I have received Christ in my heart. Not of my works, but in faith, I was justified. As Christ has risen to the right hand of the Father, He has given the Holy Spirit into my life to be my guide and counselor.

Come Holy Spirit, lead me through as I go through progressive santification as a child of God.
You have called me out of darkness into the marvellous light and I have been set free from the slavery of sin. Now, I am the slave to God. Help me be holy because You are holy. Holy Spirit, come and live in me. Direct my thoughts to be aligned to your thoughts. I want to be rooted and built up in the ways of God. Strengthened me in the faith.

In Jesus Name
Amen
